20% Project 2014: Week 13

Week 13:

Last week we presented our 20% Project to our class and our goal was to improve someone's life in one way or another and I believe I failed when you look at that point. Meanwhile my goal was to upload an introductory video on how to play pool and the basic pool knowledge. Instead I video taped myself playing a game of pool and uploaded it to Youtube. You can go check it out but the quality is terrible because it was taken on my phone. Since I had not made my video I hope to continue on making videos with better quality and help others continue on in billiards pursuit. I myself could have done better on my project and presentation as a whole but I did not take my free time and use it wisely towards my advantage. I know I could do twice as better than I did on my presentation and project as a whole so I am somewhat disappointed in myself for not performing at my full potential.

20% Project 2014: Week 12

Week 12:

So in my 10th grade English class we started a project back in September and our goal is to help improve someone's life. I decided to make a pool video, that's sort of a tutorial video but yet its a quick easy game. I had video taped myself playing in a game and I tried to upload it to my blog but I could not figure out how to upload the video to Youtube. So since then I have started prioritizing what needs to be in the video and what does not need to be included in it. Since its been a while since I have played, I will take pre-games before I actually record. The recording will probably take place on my phone so the quality will not be as good as say, a regular camera. During this week and by Thursday of next week I will plan to record myself playing and post it to Youtube.

20% Project 2014: Week 11

Week 11:

Since I have not received any comments from anyone I will talk about what necessities you would need if you are interested in competing in any forms of tournaments. The basics of tournament play is call all shots in what pocket, and in some cases watch your time limit. When I played in my tournaments all that was regulated was call every shot and one safety per game. Once I started playing I got comfortable because I started getting used to calling every shot on every play. I rarely called safety because I got the opportunity to get around my opponents balls safely. The basic necessities you need when playing is your own gear such as personal stick, chalk, (optional) your own glove. Some players will bring everything pool related gear with them to all competitions from 9-ball, 8-ball, and even snooker or trickshots.

Week 10: 20% Project 2014

Week 10:

This week I have not worked on anything because no comments are rolling in from my viewers. Since not one single person has commented I have not had any situations to work on myself to help you. I hope that ALL OF YOU comment on this blog so that I have something to help you, the viewers with your problems. Quite frankly I have been getting upset that people do not comment even though I have been asking for weeks for just one person to comment so that I could help them with their problems. Next week I would like all of you to strive and comment so that I could go out and report back with solutions to other people's problems. I myself have not played pool in over a month due to the fact that not one single person has commented. I hope that whoever reads this blog will actually comment on some questions or problems they have while playing pool.

Week 9: 20% Project 2014

Week 9:

This week I have not worked on project because I keep asking for questions and not one single person has asked any questions. I mean how hard is it to take another minute out of your time and ask a question that you are interested in. I am very disappointed on how people read this blog and when I have been asking for questions and not one single person has even commented. Since not one single person has commented I have not been working on anything so until someone comments on things they need help on or has any questions about pool. Next week I hope to find that people submitted questions and then I will answer any questions at all that you have about pool. Since I have been looking for comments I will continue to point out any problems I run into. I hope that everyone will submit a comment the next time I check my blog.

20% Project: Week 8

Week #8:

To be honest I am a little disappointed in the people that read my blogs because I ask them to leave comments and questions, but no one does. So since nobody has recently asked questions I haven't been doing much lately. I believe the last time I myself went out to play was three or four weeks ago. I have at least put up multiple ways to manipulate your opponents by playing to their weaknesses and your strengths. Since I have not been playing the next time I play I will note the problems I had and give tips and tricks to those who have those same problems. I usually have some troubles in every game such as getting blocked by opponents balls, unsuccessful shots, and even scratching on the 8-ball. Some ways I get around those types of situations is scratching intentionally and giving my opponent the upper hand and hope he/she messes up and I have the advantage.

Week 5: 20% Project

Week 5:

Well the reason why I haven't posted is because I've been busy with baseball and haven't had the time to go out and play. Even though baseball takes most of my time I still try to get out and play pool as much as I can. So with that said I'd like to keep asking for your support and send me ideas for what to talk about and I'll answer your questions. Today we will talk about the "around the table" game which means that you shoot the ball and hit multiple cushions and your goal is to make a shot. Playing around the table is difficult because you have to get the perfect shot with the closest possible angle. Playing the table is probably the most difficult part of the game because you have to have a great eye and know how to play with the table.
